When Meaghan and James shared their wedding day vision with planner Leora Kimmel Greene of One28 Strategic Events, Garage B immediately came to mind as the perfect fit for their casual and joyful celebration. Thanks to the minimalist setting and planning flexibility that is innate to our blank slate, many aspects of our venue were adapted into their wedding: add-on micro-event space, formal photography locations, indoor-outdoor capabilities, and more. All of these inclusions enhanced the experience of the big day for both the happy couple and their guests.

Like the majority of weddings hosted at Garage B, Meaghan and James added on The Annex to their venue booking as an intimate, cheerful space to unwind and regroup before and throughout the festivities. While the bridal party dressed and received hair and makeup touch-ups here, the groomsmen were able to take the brief walk through the Charles River Speedway to visit Notch Brewing and toast to a new chapter of life over a few pints.

On a sunny mid-September day, there were multiple beautiful locations at and around The Speedway for the couple to capture a “first look” and other photos. Their effervescent love radiates in these snapshots at the exterior of The Annex, along Soldiers Field Road, upon the patio adjacent to Garage B, and at Mahoney’s Garden Center (located only 0.1 mile from our venue).

Meaghan and James welcomed 200 guests to Garage B for a light-filled indoor ceremony decorated in a classic color scheme of whites and greens with modern silver accents in the form of disco balls and streamers hung from the building’s steel rafters. The couple invited family and friends to either sit among the rows of white folding chairs or stand surrounding them as they exchanged vows in front of a simply-elegant floral arch. And, because Garage B is a pet-friendly venue, their beloved dog was able to prance down the aisle as the ring bearer to everyone’s delight!

After the ceremony, cocktail hour began on the outdoor patio as the interior of Garage B was “flipped” for the reception. The folding chairs were moved to an array of high-top and round banquet tables to create space for the dance floor and a laid-back, conversational atmosphere. Adding to this warm and easygoing ambience was a dinner of passed hors d’oeuvres and a buffet instead of a traditional sit-down affair.

Above all, Meaghan and James wanted to prioritize a “big dance party vibe” for their wedding… and they delivered! The couple made a grand entrance into the reception through the open garage-style doors for their first dance among a crowd of flashing light wands. Then, the dancing continued all night as a DJ brought the jams and a projectionist played a light show on Garage B’s stone walls.
