While Garage B books celebrations of all kinds year-round, our venue really comes to life in the summer. Weddings, b’nai mitzvah, graduation parties, and corporate cookouts can all be hosted here with ease. However, just as any summertime backyard bash should respect its surroundings, there are some special considerations to keep in mind when joining us in our corner of Boston’s vibrant Brighton neighborhood, and this season is the perfect time of year to address them.
The base rental fee for any private event hosted by Garage B includes up to 12 hours of access to the venue for setup, the event itself, and breakdown. To avoid interference with the neighboring businesses at the Charles River Speedway and conflicts with our busy event schedule, all preparations typically must occur on the day of the event. Our Events Manager will work closely with you on the allotted timing and coordination for load-in and load-out of your catering, entertainment, decor, and other vendors.
When it’s party time, Garage B’s flexible space allows for all types of entertainment during your private event, whether you utilize our internal sound system for house music and microphones or bring in a DJ or band. In any case, per the City of Boston Municipal Code, music must be kept to a volume no louder than 70 decibels. Additionally, there may be times that the Venue Manager on-site for your event determines a more appropriate volume level in order to not disturb the activities of our lovely Speedway neighbors. Finally, to further comply with the sound ordinance, any event still rocking past 11pm will require lowering of the garage doors to prevent sound travel.
Once the night ends, you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here! Please remember that you, your vendors, and your hired staff are responsible for event breakdown. All items for your event must be picked up and all trash must be removed during the designated load-out hours immediately following the event unless otherwise arranged in advance with our Events Manager.
