The versatility of Garage B allows for organizations to think outside the box when hosting an experiential event. For New Art Center’s annual gala, our blank slate venue was transformed into a vibrant art gallery for a live auction supporting the Center and its Cultural Access Program.
Garage B offers the flexibility of both indoor and outdoor spaces with the extension of an adjacent patio area. Attendees of the New Art Center gala checked in to this unique event at an Airstream parked out front, a fun utilization of the outdoor capabilities of the venue.
The distinctive garage doors were decorated to colorfully filter sunlight and match the interior lighting scheme, which turned the venue into a hip work of art itself. Through the doors, guests were greeted with a glass of champagne, served by a glitzy human disco ball, to get the party started!
The event layout possibilities are endless with Garage B’s open 3,300 square-foot floor space. The New Art Center gala incorporated a DJ entertainment booth, a bartending stand, catering stations by The Chef’s Table, and seating areas — all inspired by pop art motifs — to create dynamic, lively spaces for taking in the art, socializing, and dancing.
New Art Center booked a three-day setup with Garage B’s events team in order to carefully load in and construct the art gallery components, and all other rentals were easily moved into place through the series of garage doors. The event was such a successful celebration of art and community that the gala returns to Garage B this spring.
