With its vintage flair, this former 1940s garage has been revitalized into a large industrial warehouse space, complete with working floor-to-ceiling garage doors. When these doors are open, our 3300 square feet of indoor space becomes more expansive, adding indoor / outdoor flexibility to one of the most unique event venues in the area.
To give you more of a glimpse into what makes Garage B so special, let’s chat with Jenna Chillington, Events Sales Manager. Jenna guides clients through the entire rental process, offering insight into all that this magical event venue has to offer! Let’s jump in with some questions for Jenna!
What is your role at Garage B?
I am the Event Sales Manager for Garage B. That means when you complete a contact form or call us directly, I will be your first point of contact. I’ll give you an overview of the space at Garage B, accompany you when you tour our space, answer your questions, and finally, explain your contract and collect your deposit.
Throughout your planning process, I am happy to connect with you or your event planner to answer any questions about the venue and schedule additional vendor tours.
What is the process of securing a date at Garage B?
Some dates and months that go quicker than others. After you tour Garage B (or before!), you can put down a 50% deposit to fully reserve your date.
Sometimes we are able to put “soft holds” on dates, and give you a right of first refusal if another group were to reach out about your specific date.
What does the term “blank slate” mean at Garage B?
Blank slate is exactly what it sounds like! It means you get to decide on every item that you bring into the space – from the food and beverage, to the lighting and furniture. We rent you the space as an empty shell, and you fill it in with your imagination, no copy and paste weddings or events here!
While this might seem like a large undertaking, with the right vendor team, you won’t regret going with a blank slate. You have full control and creativity to make your event uniquely you!
What are your top three favorite things about Garage B?
- The indoor/outdoor aspect of Garage B is truly one of its best assets, especially in Boston!
- The natural light that Garage B gets is unreal. If you time it right, you can get a beautiful golden hour during your event.
- The flexibility! I’ve now seen over 20 weddings in the venue and each and every one has been so unique. I can always see the couple’s personality, as well as unmatched creativity from event planners/designers and vendors. It’s really amazing to see.
What are the most asked questions about Garage B?
Parking! Do we have it, and how much?
We are lucky enough to have dedicated parking on the weekends for Garage B Events, thanks to our neighbors at the Charles River Community Health Center.
This lot is 60+ dedicated spaces that are exclusive to your event if you choose to reserve it. Parking at a venue is a pretty rare amenity for Boston venues, so we feel very lucky to be able to offer this!
Catering! Can I bring in my own caterer? Do you have a kitchen?
Catering is another big question I get a lot. Garage B is equipped with a catering prep space, but does not have a full kitchen. We have two dedicated rooms for catering set up, one that has a garage door, allowing for propane cooking.
We have worked with many Boston catering companies, as well as those in surrounding areas, and have seen many unique catering setups. We have a list of preferred caterers that have mastered our space, and we love to highlight them: Max Ultimate Catering, Gourmet Caterers, La Bonne Maison, Chef’s Table, Johnny Burke Catering, and Capers Catering.
