Festival season is in full swing, and, this year, the hottest ticket in town was an invitation for a groovy first birthday party at Garage B. With vibrant hippie-inspired details and unique experiential moments, this celebration rivaled even the trendiest world tour. Here is how our fun and flexible blank-slate venue was transformed into a day of “peace, music, and cake” for this top-tier bash.
Alongside a standard twelve-hour booking, Garage B was able to accommodate additional hours in the venue on the day prior to the event to account for a comprehensive setup and extended load-in schedule. Luxury rentals were provided by preferred vendors Dez Collective and Kadeema, but many of the party’s special installations and designs were custom fabrications created by the client. All event components were efficiently brought into our large event space through the bank of operable overhead doors.
Outside Garage B, 100 guests were welcomed by a colorful, flowery balloon sculpture and a will-call booth. The venue’s landscaped patio was organized with boho-chic lounge areas of rattan accents and kiddie picnic tables. Nearby in the driveway were parked a mobile photobus retrofitted from a vintage Volkswagen van and a bar pizza food truck that provided an outdoor snack option.
Indoors, Garage B was decorated from floor to ceiling with multi-hued blooms, vivid streamers, and funky gobo lighting. Drapery and a themed backdrop at one end of the venue was the focal point for a DJ booth and the birthday girl’s towering six-layer cake. Several curated seating arrangements consisted of plush sofas and stylish rugs in warm tones and playful textures. As a catering team passed out appetizers to the crowd, a row of food stalls also served ice cream, cotton candy, and popcorn. Adult guests imbibed from a stocked bar that included signature drinks, and younger guests could enjoy the adjacent mocktail stand.
Garage B’s high-output power capabilities supported multiple distinct party stations, such as a bounce house and a photo booth styled as a giant vinyl turntable. Little ones were also entertained with soft play and craft areas. A merchandise stand administered souvenir clothing, posters, and other accessories while a heat press personalized denim jackets as guest favors from this epic party.
