Garage B Featured in Boston Magazine’s “Real Weddings”

We are delighted to share that Garage B was recently featured in Boston Magazine’s “Real Weddings” section! This series highlights exceptional weddings in the Greater Boston area — those that exhibit beautiful design, unique personalization, and unmistakable New England character. Last year, Jinhee and Kyuto hosted a sophisticated and stylish wedding in our Brighton modern-industrial event space that incorporated thoughtful design elements and plenty of memorable moments. Read on or visit Boston Magazine’s “Weddings” archives to discover what made this Garage B celebration so special.

“The fact that we had this little nook just for us was really important to us. We spent five minutes just talking, like, ‘How are you feeling?’… just checking in. That was one of my favorite moments.”

First, Jinhee and Kyuto added to their wedding venue booking our auxiliary microevent space, The Annex, as an inviting getting-ready suite, a charming photography location, and a quiet retreat throughout the festivities. Outside this quaint, historic hideaway that is also located within the Charles River Speedway, the couple shared a first look and exchanged private vows before their ceremony.

“Jinhee had a vision for our wedding, and Garage B was this white canvas that she could put her ideas on.”

Jinhee and Kyuto worked with their planner to elevate the minimalism of Garage B as well as maximize its flexible capabilities as a blank-slate wedding venue. A romantic pipe-and-drape installation contained a portion of the 3,300 SF open floor plan for the ceremony and softened the aesthetic of the original stone walls and polished concrete flooring. Pink and peach ikebana arrangements with battery-operated candles brightened and warmed the space. A stunning array of paper lanterns, string lights, and greenery hung from the ceiling’s steel rafters. Throughout the evening, the ethereal lighting was adjusted to different strengths and color temperatures that set the mood.

“I think everyone had a lot of fun hanging out, catching up with each other […] and sitting as one whole unit. It set the environment we were hoping for. People were relaxed. It felt like a special night but also comfortable.”

After the ceremony, cocktail hour was hosted on the adjacent outdoor patio. While Jinhee & Kyuto’s family and friends sipped on signature cocktails, Garage B was “flipped” for the reception. Dressed tables that were staged behind the drape partition were brought into place, and the drapery itself became a refined backdrop for the couple’s sweetheart table. Our large venue provided the capacity for a hybrid layout of long rectangular tables and round banquet tables that encouraged relaxed connection and conversation among 120 guests, some of whom had traveled all the way from Korea and Japan.

Our team absolutely adored hosting Jinhee and Kyuto and are excited that others can see the joy and beauty that their love brought into our space on that day!
