National Grid Powers On the Community at the Garage B Event Venue

Garage B at the Charles River Speedway is more than just an event space — it’s part of a community made up of locally owned businesses waiting to welcome your next event or function. A short walk from the event venue you’ll find a shared space featuring community benches, covered seating, and a stage.

Here’s how National Grid tapped into the power of the Charles River Speedway community during its multi-day event at Garage B.

During the initial site tour, the coordinator fell in love – not only with Garage B, but with the Speedway as well. This event needed a space to accommodate over 100 individuals for an annual summit. The solutions were found by using both the blank slate venue – Garage B -as well as the Charles River Speedway, rather than booking two separate locations.

On event day, over 100 international guests arrived at 8 a.m. to begin the summit with breakfast from one of our preferred caterers, Johnny Burke Catering, and coffee from the Speedway’s own Rite Tea + Espresso.

The attendees broke into small group meetings during the first half of the day, taking short breaks on the outdoor patio in between sessions, and stopping for lunch from the same catering team.

At the end of the work day, the summit concluded with the group headed up the short walkway into the Speedway.

National Grid organized a “crawl” through the Speedway food and beverage vendors with stops at Koji Club, Rite Tea + Espresso, Super Bien, and Notch Brewing. Each attendee received tickets to use at any of the businesses — and then enjoyed a pizza party with 20 pizzas from Pizza Project to share among the group.

Notch Brewing also had live music previously scheduled for this day, allowing the guests to enjoy the tunes while networking and lounging in the biergarten. After all was said and done, the guests were shuttled back to their hotel partner.
